WL Golf Society

The WL League was officially formed late 2014 by the Giles brothers to record all the matches played on a weekly basis.

The league was set up as a large number of competitive golfers mainly from Coulsdon have been playing mostly twilight Sundays over the past 10 years without a recognised format. The format agreed is Stableford and the handicaps are calculated using R&A rules.

The season runs from End of March (Clocks go forward) until end of October (Clocks go back) 7 months. The winner is the player who has the most Stableford points and bonus points over the best 10 scores through-out the season, making it the fairest way for those golfers whom can not commit to every week.

There is prize money for the top 3 golfers and a trophy and bragging rights to the winner each year.

From 2017 we have introduced Major trophy's 4 per year to co-inside with the European and PGA golf calendar. The first major will be played at the Belfry March 25th 2017.
